THE CYCLONES ACADEMY
The Cyclones Academy is a summer basketball program for local student/athletes.
Our primary emphasis is skill development for all athletes in the program.
The Academy is of the mentality that improvement of the fundamental skills requires time, dedication and a strong work ethic, from coaches and players alike. We hope that this mentality will lead to better players and teammates returning to their respective schools.
Unlike many travel basketball programs, we feel like practices are not only mandatory but NECESSARY!
The Cyclones Academy has high expectations for every individual in the program! We expect cooperation, commitment and discipline. Practice is a safe learning environment which is challenging and fun for players, one that conditions as well as develops good techniques, sound fundamentals, mental toughness and concentrated effort.
In addition to providing the highest quality of coaching and fundamental skill development, our ambition is aimed toward keeping the youth today in the classroom and steered away from negative influences. We see the gym as being a classroom in itself.
We value the importance of education, on and off the court, as well as service and appreciation for our community and our team philosophy will embody these elements.
Our Goals:
Encourage the pursuit of achieving both individual and team goals
Promote sportsmanship
Show respect for individuals, including teammates and competitors alike
Develop core offensive and defensive fundamentals
Provide a fun and learning environment for players
Learn and teach discipline under the concept of T.E.A.M.

Our volunteers and members are committed to seeing that our players are trained by dedicated coaches that foster an environment that emphasizes athletic excellence, physical and mental discipline, self-esteem, leadership and sportsmanship. This commitment is essential in order for each player to reach their full potential.
